ICET 2009 Notification

The Candidates are advised to submit the duly filled in Application Form for Entrance Test by Speed Post through the Head Post Offices or delivered in person at the Office of The Convener, ICET-2009, Andhra University College of Engineering, Andhra University, Visakhapatnam - 530 003 (A.P.) on or before stipulated date.

ICET 2009 Eligibility:

a) The candidates should be Indian National and should satisfy local/non-local status requirements laid down in the Andhra Pradesh Educational Institutions (Regulations of Admission) Order, 1974 as amended up to date (as per G.O.Ms.No.25, date :19-03-2004 & G.O.Ms.No.108, Higher Education Department, dated 30-07-2005 and its amendments).

b) The Candidate other then Indian Nationals should satisfy the rules of the Universities concerned.

c) A pass (or) appearance at the final year examinations of Bachelor’s Degree (Except BOL and BFA) of any University in Andhra Pradesh or Any other University Recognized as equivalent thereto.

d) The candidate seeking admission into MBA course should have passed a Bachelor’s Degree Examination of not less then three years duration from any recognized University or equivalent thereof basides passing SSC or equivalent examination with Mathematics as one of the subjects.

e) The candidate seeking admission into MCA course should have passed a Bachelor’s Degree Examination or not less than three years duration in any discipline with Mathematics at 10+2 level (or) should have passed BAchelor’s Degree Examination of not less than 3 years duration in any discipline with Mathematics as one of the subjects.

f) The candidates who are appearing for the final year degree examination shall also be eligible to appear for ICET-2009

g) Admission into any college depends on its Recognition/Affiliation by the Statutory Bodies.

h) Qualifying marks in ICET-2009 is 25% and no minimum marks prescribed for SC/ST candidates.

The indices are expected to open on a flat note following flattish closings among the global indices. The Nifty may trade between 3400-3520 levels for the day. Hence, investors are advised to trade long if 3450 levels hold else form lower supports of 3400 targeting 3520 & 3550 levels. This gives the band a very wide palette to experiment with. The band, unlike the old 'Agni', sings in Hindi.

The High Court of Rajasthan was founded in the year 1949 at Jodhpur, and was inaugurated by Maharaja Sawai Man Singh, and there after a bench was formed at Jaipur which was dissolved in the year 1958 and was again formed in the year 1977, currently the sanctioned strength of the judges is 40 and actual strength is 36. The current Chief Justice of the Rajasthan High Court is Narayan Roy.

The West Bengal University of Technology (WBUTech) came into existence on August 5, 2000. It started functioning with the assumption of office of the first Vice Chancellor on January 15, 2001 as a sequel to the promulgation of the West Bengal University of Technology Act 2000; under the West Bengal Act XV of 2000 passed by the West Bengal Legislature and published in the Calcutta Gazette (Extraordinary) vide Publication dated july 20, 2000. The Act contemplates a General Council (GC), an Executive Council (EC), an Academic Council (AC), Finance Committee and an Advisory Council as its regulatry and advisory bodies. His Excellency, the Governor of the state of West Bengal would be the ex-officio Chancellor of the University.

Currently, the University is functioning through an Advisory Committee constituted by the Chancellor under the advice of the Government of West Bengal, as per necessary transitory provisions of the Act.

Funded at the initial stages of its formation by the Government of West Bengal, the UTECH is set to become a Centre of Excellence in multidisciplinary science and technology areas of topical importance, in studies and research, in addition to providing adequate facilities for the pursuit of degree and advanced-level course in management, paramedical and other professional areas through its affiliated institutions. The University has been accorded the affiliating University status with its jurisdiction encompassing the entire state of West Bengal.

What is Tardive Dyskinesia?

Tardive dyskinesia is a neurological syndrome caused by the long-term use of neuroleptic drugs. Neuroleptic drugs are generally prescribed for psychiatric disorders, as well as for some gastrointestinal and neurological disorders. Tardive dyskinesia is characterized by repetitive, involuntary, purposeless movements. Features of the disorder may include grimacing, tongue protrusion, lip smacking, puckering and pursing, and rapid eye blinking. Rapid movements of the arms, legs, and trunk may also occur. Involuntary movements of the fingers may appear as though the patient is playing an invisible guitar or piano.

Is there any treatment?
There is no standard treatment for tardive dyskinesia. Treatment is highly individualized. The first step is generally to stop or minimize the use of the neuroleptic drug. However, for patients with a severe underlying condition this may not be a feasible option. Replacing the neuroleptic drug with substitute drugs may help some patients. Other drugs such as benzodiazepines, adrenergic antagonists, and dopamine agonists may also be beneficial.

What is the prognosis?
Symptoms of tardive dyskinesia may remain long after discontinuation of neuroleptic drugs; however, with careful management, some symptoms may improve and/or disappear with time.

What research is being done?
The NINDS conducts and supports a broad range of research on movement disorders including tardive dyskinesia. The goals of this research are to improve understanding of these disorders and to discover ways to treat, prevent, and, ultimately, cure them.
