The cabinet ministers include Virbhadra Singh, former Himachal Pradesh chief minister, Vilasrao Deshmukh, former Maharashtra chief minister, and Farooq Abdullah, former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister.

The others are Dayanidhi Maran, M K Azhagari and A. Raja of the DMK. From the Congress, the ministers will be Mallikarjun Kharge, Kumari Selja, Subodh Kant Sahay, M S Gill, G K Vasan, Pawan Kumar Bansal, Mukul Wasnik and Kantilal Bhuria.

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh expands his council of ministers Thursday, adding 14 cabinet ministers, including three former chief ministers and three DMK leaders, and 45 ministers of state.

The ministers with independent charge are Praful Patel of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) and the Congress' Prithviraj Chavan, Sriprakash Jaiswal, Salman Khurshid, Jairam Ramesh, Krishna Tirath and Dinsha Patel.

Agatha Sangma

Ms Agatha K Sangma, daughter of former Lok Sabha Speaker P A Sangma and the youngest member of the House at 27, and TRS leader K Chandra Sekhar Rao were among seven newly-elected MPs who took oath on Monday, July 21.

Agatha Sangma is a lawyer, an environmentalist, an amateur photographer and at 27, she is also India's youngest Member of Parliament. Agatha has just won the Tura Lok Sabha seat in a by-election after it was vacated by her father, former Lok Sabha speaker, Purno Sangma — also a nine-time winner from the constituency who is returning to state politics — even though the Opposition alleges Agatha is just riding her father's luck.

But Agatha ignores these jibes saying, "At the end of the day, even if I get a ticket from a national party or anywhere, it's the people who will elect me. I will not win with one vote or four votes from my family. I will win with the votes of the people of Garo Hills."

And a lot of voters — despite the criticism from the Opposition — have put their faith in Agatha.
They say she is a courageous girl and will do well. They also believe that she will fight for Garo Hills. This photograph was taken on the day of the byelection in Tura.

These most promising effort are :

  • We all have seen the famous Jago Re campaign.
  • state CEO sites setup
  • facility to search electoral rolls
  • HT and Google India tie to bring up election portal

But Still there is a lot which can be done. To top the list is a facility where one can search his polling station location.

I tried searching a lot for such a service but couldn't find one. If anyone of you come across such service please let me know.
